Meet Diana

Salish Running is a minority-woman owned small business based in Bellingham, Washington. Diana Bob is the owner of Salish Running. Diana was born in Bellingham, raised in Ferndale and on the Lummi Reservation. Diana is an enrolled member of the Lummi Nation. She graduated from Ferndale High School where she was a multi-sport varsity athlete after playing in rec-leagues/AAU/Boys & Girls club teams all around Whatcom County. She played Division III college fastpitch and then in law school found herself without a team and no money to join a gym. She started running with the cross-training shoes from her softball equipment kit and has been at it for the last 20 years.

Diana has run over 10,000 miles for recreational enjoyment; she’s completed over 15 marathons, countless half-marathons and attempted two 50k ultra-marathons. Some of those races were relaxing and seemed effortless and others were struggles to get it done; but all ended with amazing sense of accomplishment and desire to try again. Diana has never sustained a running injury.

For Diana, running has been a gateway to new adult friends, travel to new cities and an effective stress management tool. During 2019 she recognized that Whatcom County was lacking an accepting, recreational and fun running organization. In 2021 she completed the training to become a RCCA Certified Running Coach and organized all her favorite Whatcom County running routes to share with others.
