Group Training Programs
8 week Half Marathon Plan: $125.00 (May - July)
22 week Full Marathon Plan: $250.00 (May - October)
22 week Half Marathon Plan: $250.00 (May - October)
From May -October, Salish Running hosts group runs in Bellingham and around Whatcom County. All levels (runners and walkers) are welcome to commit to a weekly group outing on Saturday mornings. The Group Runs will have a start time, a set route, with target distances clearly identified, and a plan communicated. We are focused on safety, so we will have clearly marked routes on public paths and trails around Bellingham. Summer runs will be supported with water stations on the route.
Group Runs are not races; all paces are welcome and nobody will be left alone to end the run without a high-five. The Group Runs generally break into the following low-pressure/self-identified pace groups: Frisky, Medium and Mellow.
All Training Group participants will get access to a Team Training page on Final Surge where the training calendar, meet up locations and group run routes will be accessed; no chasing emails for the meet up location or run distance.
Goal Performance Training
$100 per month for sustained individual coaching and training plan
By choosing Goal Performance Training you’ll gain:
A specific training plan for running that will integrate with other fitness activities and the rest of your life.
Training workouts might include tempo runs, interval training, dedicated hill work; and will be tailored to your needs and goals.
The training plan will be offered through Final Surge so no need to relay information to your Coach with time consuming emails.
Guidance on equipment and gear
The importance of REST in your training plan
Feedback on fuel before/during/after a run
The significance of and need for stretching
Goal Performance Training participants will get access to an individual training page on Final Surge with a training calendar with explanation on how to follow the plan and ability to message your running coach as needed. There will also be a weekly 30 minute Zoom coach call. Goal Performance Training is a monthly commitment; you decide whether it is a one month or something more sustained.
Sliding Scale Policy— Privilege-based Sliding Scale
To make our running community more inclusive and accessible, Salish Running implements a sliding scale policy on all our services. The current pricing structure is based on commitment to keep training opportunities consistent with new and evolving standards and fairly compensate people that we work with. We feel confident that our training guidance is of the highest quality and will help you meet your goals if you’re committed to following through!
However, Salish Running also wants to ensure that there is accessibility to our services and experiences for everyone who has an interest and is experimenting with the following to help make that possible.
Please review the guidelines and know that this scale is intended to be a starting point, inviting each of us to take inventory of our financial resources and look deeper at our levels of privilege. It is a way to challenge the classist and capitalist society we live in and work towards economic justice on a local level. It asks us to deeply evaluate and consider more than just income level. While we ask you to take these factors into consideration, please don’t stress about it. Salish Running is offering a 30% discount for those who do not have high levels of privilege in our society. Pay what feels right. We will not ask questions or quiz you on your payment choices!
Consider paying less on the scale if you:
are a person who experiences discrimination and/or violence related to systematic oppression
have medical expenses not covered by insurance
been denied work based on race, ethnicity, or national origin
are eligible for public assistance
have immigration-related expenses
work for a local non-profit organization
are supporting children or other dependents as a single parent
have never tried any fitness activity before due to the cost of joining
are an elder with limited financial support
Consider paying more on the scale if you:
own the home you live in
have investments, retirement accounts, or inherited money
travel recreationally
have access to family money and resources in times of need
work part time by choice
have multiple pairs of high-quality running shoes
have a relatively high degree of earning power due to level of education, gender privilege, racial privilege, thin privilege, class background, etc. Even if you are not currently exercising your earning power, I ask you to recognize this as a choice.
We do acknowledge that the low end of the scale might still not be affordable for some. Please understand that we are offering a model that we feel is sustainable for the small business. We consider this a work in progress.

Well, chances are it will rain, we do live in Western Washington…but there is plenty of great rain gear we can talk about to make those rainy runs a bit more tolerable.
